FAQs

What is 1U?

1U is a measurement of height in the 19” rackmount standard. Eurorack modules adhere to 3 rack units, or 3U. Mosaic tiles adhere to 1 rack unit in height, and require appropriate rails to mount in a rack or modular case.

Which 1U format do Mosaic Tiles adhere to?

We ship our modules in either Intellijel or Pulp Logic Formats! Just select which format you need on the module’s product page. If you are looking to swap formats, don’t worry! You can purchase replacement front panels of either format on our Replacement Panels page.

Will Mosaic 1U modules fit in my Make Noise 7U case?

The Make Noise Metal 7U CV Bus Case requires Pulp Logic formatted front panels. Though our modules ship with Intellijel formatted front panels, you can purchase Pulp Logic front panels as replacements on our site. Luckily, the Make Noise PSU uses compatible power pins with our modules!

What do the colors mean on Mosaic’s front panels?

Each color indicates a function across the Mosaic lineup.

Green: Audio Signals

Purple: Gate Signals

Blue: Control Voltage

What case should I buy for integrating 1U into my system?

The most popular cases for Mosaic modules is the Intellijel palette series of cases. Their sleek dimensions and format compliance make for easy installation. Other great considerations include Blackhole Cases and MDLR Cases. The next most popular: a DIY case of your own!

Do Mosaic 1U modules require a special cable or power supply?

No, Mosaic 1U Tiles use the standard eurorack 10-16 pin connector, and use standard Eurorack power requirements (+-12V).

Mosaic 1U Tiles do not require external 5V from a case PSU.

What is the difference between Intellijel and Pulp Logic 1U formats?

The key difference between the two formats is the height of the front panel. The Intellijel standard is slightly shorter than the Pulp Logic standard.
